Civic & Community Engagement Committee

The Civic & Community Engagement Committee guides CCYP’s community involvement and advocacy work. The committee promotes involvement in local governance and organizes resources, events, workshops, and initiatives that encourage citizens to engage in public service, volunteerism, and collaborative projects. The committee also serves as a liaison between CCYP and both local governments and local Chambers, ensuring that young professionals have a voice in decision-making processes.

This Committee is a good fit for volunteers who are:

  • Community Leaders: Individuals who are respected and trusted within the community.

  • Educators: Teachers or professors who can provide civic education and outreach.

  • Organizers: Individuals skilled in bringing people together and planning community events and activities.

  • Local Government Enthusiasts: Those who understand (and love!) civic processes and governance.

Volunteering at your local library. Voicing your opinions at town hall. Writing a letter to the editor. With countless ways to contribute, how will you make your impact? Our free four-week email course guides you through the options on the Cape and helps you make a plan to get more involved!

Child Care

For working parents on Cape Cod, access to high-quality early childhood education and care is a critical need. CCYP supports local, state, and national policies that reduce or mitigate the high cost of child care; increase training, development, and funding support for child care professionals; and offer incentives and program models that increase provider options.

Housing

Cape Cod's housing crisis severely impacts the ability of the region to recruit and retain the next generation of our workforce. CCYP supports local, state, and national policies that increase housing stock, create an array of housing choices to meet all incomes and preferences, and support programs geared to help young professionals purchase a home they can afford.
