METHODOLOGY

.This dataset contains information on 1,755 nonprofit organizations exported from the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search tool over the course of 2025 and 2026. It is intended to provide a comprehensive look at the region's philanthropic and civic landscape. Family foundations, trusts, and religious organizations have been excluded from this analysis, as have organizations that are no longer operating.

Because the underlying IRS data reflects each organization's most recent available filing, revenue figures and operating status may lag behind an organization's current circumstances.

Organizations are grouped into revenue tiers based on their reported annual figures, and counts for smaller tiers are approximate.

WHY WE BUILT THIS

CCYP's Civic & Community Engagement Committee believes emerging leaders become committed, generous stewards of place when three things happen together: they feel they belong somewhere; they are actively building a capacity to contribute; and they are invited into real responsibility... before they feel ready. This guide is one part of the puzzle. Together, we hope to turn potential into stewardship, and stewardship into a sustainable future for Cape and Islands.
