Leadership doesn't always happen on center stage. It happens in the schedules, systems, and problem-solving that keep everything (and everyone) moving forward. On Monday, December 8, we gathered for an inspiring evening with President & CEO of Seamen's Bank Lori Meads, who began her own professional journey in customer service before leading one of Cape Cod's most community-minded institutions.
Mentors Lori Meads, Betty Gray, and Katherine Driscoll offered their experience and insights and CCYP's committee leaders Julie Woodard, Cat Wilson, and Conor MacWilliams MC'ed the evening.
Lori shared insights from her path, from her early days managing operations to leading one of the Cape's most trusted institutions. Then, we explored what it means to lead through logistics, structure, and care for the people who make it all possible.
During the speed mentoring rounds, our community brought incredible questions to the table, from building clientele and managing imposter syndrome, to navigating nonprofit burnout, succession planning, and the pivotal mindset shifts that move leaders from day-to-day operations into strategic thinking. We talked about daily routines, prioritization across competing demands, fostering workplace fulfillment, and what keeps us going on the days we want to quit.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this powerful conversation about the behind-the-scenes leadership that makes our community thrive.
