How many nonprofits are there on Cape Cod and the Islands? Eighteen months later, we have an answer, and now everyone else can see them, too.
What We Built
CCYP's new Civic Engagement Map is the first regional directory of its kind: a single, searchable, sortable home for every nonprofit organization across Cape Cod and the Islands. Built from publicly available IRS data collected in 2025 and 2026, it puts information that was always technically "available" into a form people can actually use.
The map is interactive and segmented by industry, so you can filter by what you care about: animals, arts, education, civic engagement, farming, health, and more. Click any pin and you'll see the organization's name, industry, address, annual revenue, and EIN. Alongside the map is a sortable spreadsheet, complete with websites, descriptions, and mission-aligned keywords. (The list is secular; churches are not included.)
Why It Matters
Raising awareness for nonprofits has always been CCYP's bread and butter. We connect organizations to each other and, until now, we've been doing it without a map.
We hope the map changes that for everyone. If you're a resident wondering where to volunteer, it's a starting point. If you're a nonprofit looking for a collaborator, it's a shortcut. As our Executive Director Emily Wagner puts it: "Knowledge is power."
It also reflects something we believe deeply at CCYP: emerging leaders become committed stewards of a place when they understand where they belong and have the tools to contribute. You can't plug into a community you can't see.

Before you dive into the directory, please take a few minutes to complete the short survey on the site. It's brief, and it helps us understand how people across the region actually see the local nonprofit sector.
Responses are open through October 1, and the findings will be presented at the 29th Annual Philanthropy Day on Cape Cod on Tuesday, October 27. From there, everything we learn goes right back into circulation... insights, patterns, and, we hope, a lot more conversation.
